Inauguration of the Renovated Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at “Evangelismos” General Hospital

A significant step forward for hematologic care was marked by the inauguration of the fully renovated Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at “Evangelismos” General Hospital in Athens.

The project was made possible through a generous donation by Aurora – Together Against Hematologic Diseases, and was designed and executed by Axis Medical. The goal: to create a modern, safe, and patient-centered environment for individuals undergoing bone marrow transplantation.

The new unit meets the highest operational and isolation standards, featuring controlled air systems (HEPA, positive/negative pressure), ergonomic medical design, and materials that enhance infection control and overall safety.

The inauguration event highlighted the vital role of collaboration between public institutions, private initiatives, and socially responsible organizations in advancing healthcare infrastructure.

Axis Medical CEO stated:

It is an honor for us to contribute to such an important project, delivered with technical excellence and deep respect for the patient. We thank Aurora for their trust, and the hospital staff for the outstanding cooperation throughout the process.
